WE THE PEOPLE is a coalition of activists for better government:
The success of Democracy requires an informed and rational electorate. We, the people, are responsible for maintaining the success of the government and for correcting the government’s mistakes and irrational policies. Bad government is the fault of the public. For democracy to succeed the public must be educated on what is required for running a good government and must keep informed on the government’s actions.
Basic Foundation of Democracy:
Thomas Jefferson gave us the basic principles for the foundation of democracy in the Declaration of Independence:
* All men (and women) are created equal, that they are endowed by
their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are
life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. These state that it is the
duty of the government to secure these rights for ALL people. The
government and laws should be structured with a concern for survival and
health for all people regardless of their income level.
